This sleek and sexy New Albany bath remodel was designed by Trish Takacs of Dream Baths by Kitchen Kraft. She met the client at the Central Ohio Best of Fall Home Show. The client liked the layout, or footprint, of their existing bath but wanted the space to feel larger and have more storage. They also wanted to have touches of traditional and modern design, along with a luxurious, spa-like feel.

The existing layout featured a large master bath with a corner tub, shower and large vanity. Takacs put pen to paper and showed the client that by replacing the corner tub with a straight tub they could make the adjacent shower bigger. The straight tub would be mounted into a tub deck which would double as a shower seat. The shower door would be extended farther over the tub deck leaving more space in the shower. A tower was also added to the vanity for additional storage.

Takacs worked with a gray and white color palate in addition to finding traditional and modern fixtures and materials. The vanity featured a traditional dove gray paint and granite top, while the sinks were a modern shallow with levered faucets. The shower was also a collection of traditional and modern fixtures and materials. Gray and white tiles covered the walls, along with a granite top on the shower curb. A vertical glass waterfall was the modern focal point alongside a handheld sprayer.

For the luxurious spa-like feel a stone floor was laid in the shower and radiant heated flooring was installed throughout the rest of the bath. The combination of white and gray with the brushed nickel fixtures and varying tile and materials gave the new bath a calming and relaxing quality that is timeless.
